Silver Linings: How Our Team is Making the Most of Staying In

Here at JJNRE, we’ve been spending some time discussing how we can best show up for you during this uncertain time. Connecting with our St. Louis community is at the core of what we do. So, while the world has changed, our mission has not. We hope by sharing our own stories, we can be a bright spot in your day.

Here at JJNRE, we’ve been spending some time discussing how we can best show up for you during this uncertain time. Connecting with our St. Louis community is at the core of what we do. So, while the world has changed, our mission has not. We hope by sharing our own stories, we can be a bright spot in your day.

Since we’re all spending a lot more time at home these days, here’s a look at how some of the JJNRE team is making the most of staying in.

For the last month, agent Katie Kemper has been digging into a newfound interest: plants.

“I’ve never been much of a green thumb, but when the quarantine began, I decided to turn a little empty dead zone in my office to a “green zone.” This is a time of restoration and I’m restoring my mindset on those things I thought I couldn’t do. I’m having so much fun learning about different house plants and even acquiring a couple from a dear

client-turned-friend (thanks, Ed!).”

Now that the JJNRE team is working from home, Listing Coordinator Amy Guignon and her family have come up with creative ways to repurpose their underused spaces into workstations.

“With three people working from home and three people online schooling we turned a critical eye toward underused space to create work areas and a fifth bedroom. I would say quarantine made us look for more everyday practical uses for our home. So far, the living room has worked well as a school area during the week and a puzzle area on the weekends. I personally look forward to getting our living room back – free of computers and cords and back to entertaining! Right now, we have workspaces in three bedrooms: the living room, dining room and home office (depends where the Wi-Fi works best).”

JJNRE agent Jennifer Hollander is staying busy during this time thanks to her newest family member, Roxy.

“We talked about getting a second dog for a while, but our family of six lives in constant motion so we wanted to get the timing right if we adopted again. Now that we’re home more than ever, we decided it was as good a time as any. We adopted Roxy from Caring for Canines and she’s been a welcome distraction from what’s happening outside our four walls! Roxy is a gem – sweet natured, curious and playful. We call her Foxy Roxy because she looks like a fox.”

Now more than ever, our homes are our sanctuaries and the team at JJNRE will continue to be here for you for all your real estate questions or needs. Stay up to date on our latest listings and see what we’re up to by following us on Instagram or Facebook.
